Install PDG Button Sets If you are using the PDG Site Design interface with PDG Shopping Cart Version 4 or PDG Commerce Version 4: 1)After unzipping download, upload the entire 'buttons' directory to your PDGTemplates directory (if using PDG Shopping Cart) or PDGCommTemplates (if using PDG Commerce), so that the directory structure is /document_root/PDG_Templates_Directory/Button_Directory/. All .gif image files should be uploaded in binary/data format and .txt and .conf files in ASCII/text format. UNIX permissions should be set to 6-6-6 (rw-rw-rw). 2)If you are using PDG Shopping Cart, the file named cart_button.conf should be renamed to button.conf. If you are using PDG Commerce, the comm_button.conf should be renamed to button.conf. 3)Log into your PDG product's administration panel and select 'Site Design'. On the main site design page you should now see the new button set available with other skins. Select the button set you would like to install by clicking the appropriate radial button. Under the list of skins you will be prompted to choose which portions of the skin you would like to install. Since the button sets contain only buttons, and not templates or style settings, select only the buttons check box. Click 'Load Layout Configuration' submit button. 4)Make changes live! Your PDG product will now replace the default or existing buttons with the newly selected buttons. If you are not using the PDG Site Design interface with your PDG Software Product: 1)After unzipping download, upload .gif image files only to your preferred location on your site (e.g. /images/). All images should be uploaded in binary/data format. UNIX permissions should be set to 6-6-6 (rw-rw-rw). 2)Log into your PDG product's administration panel and select the 'buttons' section of the admin. In each field, enter the appropriate path/name of the image used for each action. You may use absolute paths (e.g. http://site.com/images/file.gif) or relative paths (e.g. /images/file.gif). Once you have entered the URL for all images, click on the 'submit' button at the bottom of the page. 3)Make changes live! Your PDG product will now replace the default or existing buttons with the newly specified buttons. Note: With older versions of PDG Shopping Cart and PDG Commerce, some buttons may be hard-coded into each of the PDG templates. Users may choose to replace the existing image with the new image (making sure the new image name matches the existing image name) in order to avoid having to modify every template. Otherwise, the templates can be modified to accommodate the new files names, or merchants may elect to replace the existing hard-coded image references with the appropriate PDG in order to have the software dynamically insert the image path based on administrative settings.
